With your listed occupation as "DVLA"... I'd have thought you have the inside track?
No problems as long as the vehicle is presented in a clean and roadworthy condition. Why have you had "grief"?

Re: mot q and a please
Not normally a problem as long as the car, & previous MoT cert if any, match the V5 (and sometimes, even if not).
I had to negotiate with the tester once about the rear brakes on my Mk2, which didn't show up as efficient enough on the rollers although on the road they locked up due to low weight on the back. Nowadays they do a road test with an accelerometer (at least, the tester I've been using does) for this very reason.
Any specific queries, try PM'ing Chris W (Wezgit Daan Sarf) who may be able to help.

I had to put mine on a weigh bridge, before he would pass my hand brake, because "Scamp" is not in his magic machine.

Never......... Being enthusiasts we maintain our Scamps as we do our non-kit cars.
Why, have you?

Re: mot q and a please
I have been known to spray the tyres with silicon spray at the MOT station to get mine through the MOT, as they cant fail it if the wheels lock under braking... you cant get any better that...BUT becareful on the way home smiling and feeling happy with yourself, as it makes the handling/ braking dangerous for a few miles..
