The British Indoor Off-Road Show - Donington Circuit, Sunday February 22nd
Hi All,
I'm going along to the rather grandly titled British Indoor Off-Road Show this Sunday at the Donington race track.
It's mainly stands selling bits for Land Rovers, Suzukis and Jeeps but anyone wanting to come along is welcome to join us.
There's also space at our house if anyone wants to stop over the night before for a bevi.

I'll be avoiding it................... I spend enough money on other cars, and want the Jimny to remain a frugal purchase.

I checked my bank balance last night and got a bit of a shock !
The K must be costing more than i thought so I'll not be going along on Sunday, shame its the wrong side of payday.

Speed Series racing at Dubai Autodrome this weekend probably free again might pop along and have look - some people complained about the noise from the 24 hour race last month - don't buy a posh villa near a racetrack is what I say!
Weekend of Thunder on 27 & 28 February
Dubai Autodrome is bracing itself for a weekend of thunder on 27 and 28 February as Speedcar series comes to town once again, this time for Round 3 of their series, supported by top quality UAE National Racing (Round 5) on the two day action packed bill.
Speedcar, which is now in the second season, needs no introduction to the Dubai faithful who came out in record numbers in December to witness the spectacle of the growling V8 Stock Cars pounding the asphalt of their home circuit. This, the fourth round of the 2008/2009 Championship, will again be a mouthwatering encounter of the brute power kind among a band of elite drivers.
Johnny Herbert is the defending Speedcar Series Champion and opened his account with a well deserved victory in last month’s Bahrain round. He is facing a formidable task to retain his title as there several candidates set on stealing the laurels from the popular Englishman. Recent Torro Rosso Formula 1 driver Vitantonio Liuzzi won the opening round at Dubai Autodrome when he powered to his maiden win in the Team UP car. His team-mate Sheikh Hasher Al Maktoum is eager to notch up top honours in a series which has seen him emerge as one of the young drivers to watch for the future. A big result on home turf will be the highlight of the Emirati’s career. A host of top line drivers will line-up for what is set to be another epic weekend, including ex-Formula 1 aces Jean Alesi, Heinz Harald Frentzen, Gianni Morbidelli and Jacques Villeneuve take on an assortment of hotshots including Thomas Biagi, Damien Pasini, Marchy Lee and Dubai bred Christopher Zoechling.
Prize money has been boosted for the current season of Speedcar with a 3 million dollar prize pot including 500,000 US dollars to the winning championship driver and an additional 500,000 US dollars to the winning championship team. Drivers will also win pre-determined amounts of money for each of the 12 races through the season. As an added incentive drivers on pole position for each of the 6 rounds will be awarded 10,000 US dollars.
Johnny Herbert was one of the drivers on Daz Harris's team last month did not actually get to speak to him to give a him a few pointers!
