The days of the caravan competition are back!!!!!!!!!!
Some of you older members might remember the competition between Peter Hill, Robin and Elaine and Steve and Marie Taylor to try and get the biggest caravan ever on the back of their tow car, well, it's about to happen again. This time though it's in reverse, John halliday is winning at the moment with a caravan that must have a body length of no more than an enormous 8ft, I have managed to find one with a gigantic body length of 9ft 3". Both Scamp towable............................we hope. Watch this space.

COMPACT CARAVANS
And how many dwarfs can you fit in that then, At least mine is a possilbe 3 birth if you had a small child in the family. Or a 2 berth so long as you know a good brick layer We saw a very small van at Newark kitcar show but it looked suitable only for one! Mine if anyone needs to know is a Freedon microlite all fibreglass so no rot. Made in poland, the lenth of body being 9ft long and about 550kgs.The ad shows one being towed by a Metro! Its a shame you cant put a Suzuki/bedford rascal "Bambi camper body on to a Scamp" perhaps those with deeper wallets can buy a Teardrop caravan some of those look good for our purpose.I also have a Rapido folding caravan ive yet to try. Any history on yours Steve ?

Re: The days of the caravan competition are back!!!!!!!!!!
Remember Steve Taylor's Scamp, Marvin, in its original motor caravan form? Just enough room inside for a double airbed, camping stove and a micro sink.
(at the 1985 Picnic)
Incidentally the smallest "Scamp" caravan (U.S.) is 13 ft long overall, weighs half a ton and has no brakes, at least in standard form.
