Unique Mk2 project
OK, so arguably every Scamp is unique, and one can't be any "more" unique than another. "Unique" is one of those things, like "dead" or "pregnant", that you either are or aren't.
Now, how many remember this?
It was used on the road for only about 4 years, then laid up awaiting some minor work. That was 20 years ago. During that time it's been completely re-wired, the front drums have been replaced by discs, a servo fitted, and the original 850 engine replaced by an MG Metro 1300 unit. Now that I can no longer drive, it seems a bit pointless continuing, so I would like to pass the project on to someone who can complete the oustanding work and GET THE CAR BACK ON THE ROAD.
Current state:
Work is still needed on the handbrake, gear lever mounting, hydraulics (we can assume seals will have perished), cooling system, twin fuel tanks and side lights. I've managed to get the engine to fire, but not actually run.
Included are all the parts I've obtained towards completing the job, including 4 new Weller wheels.
Offers invited in the region of £500.

Re: Unique Mk2 project
Update. This Scamp has now had a bit of tidying up, to make it presentable enough to go on e-Bay as a restoration project. But I thought I would give forum members first refusal.
Good points:
Work needed:
Good points:
- Correctly registered, as an Austin Mandry pickup with a Q plate.
- Metro 1275 engine.
- Which runs.
- New battery.
- Completely rewired, all the electrics work that are fitted.
- Deailed history including notes & sketches of work done or planned.
- All the bits I've collected towards finishing the job are included.
Work needed:
- Handbrake cable guides - weld in place
- Cooling system - modify to clear new engine, or replace with Metro equivalent.
- Clutch & brake hydraulics - full overhaul.
- Side lamps & indicators - make up suitable mounting & fit.
- Fuel system - one of the twin tanks needs a bit of attention (brazing job)
- New tyres.

Just the sort of shape body I need for a project. Got nowhere left to hide another one though. Shame.
