Re: Un reg Un finished Mk3
How difficult would it be to get it through the IVA?
Surely some of the radius's on the edges would fail?

Re Mk3 for Sale
IF you look on the Scamp Motor Co website you will see that the reason the Mk3 (mini/metro based Scamps) were discontinued is because they wouldn't pass SVA let alone IVA.
One of the reasons is the small radii as posted.
I am not even sure this unregistered Scamp has an engine block or gearbox; not shown in the pictures.

Re Unfinished MK3
Thanks OSR,
Didn't see that anywhere, and as I am not registered with ebay couldn't ask any questions. Useful info though!
As about to move house, I am only interested in a running roadworthy Mk3 or GT3.
Cheers!

Cheap, BUT, if they can't get it IVA passed it is a lot of money for scrap steel.

Re Unfinished MK3
Hi there!
Tend to agree with you on this.
I think only one Mokesque kit car has got through IVA, I think it is the Anderson Cub (might be wrong on the name). this is REALLY a Moke copy with rounded roll bars.
Thanks RG.

iva'd Moke Kit
Hi Llanigraham,
I checked it is the Anderson Cub, it went off the market place for awhile and has been redesigned to comply with IVA regs, still using mini or metro running gear. Came back on the scene around 2012.
A bit expensive though (basic) kit around 4k, turn key model more like 13K with a package in-between at about 9k. They are based near Liverpool.
Regards NG Guy.

Re: Un reg Un finished Mk3
We gave it a good inspection at the 2012 Donnington Kit Car show. It was on a stand adjacent to Wezgits Mk1.
Have a look in "Old previous events,2012, Donnington"
One of the choice parts were his version of extended rear arms for 13" wheels.
When we looked at it we didn't think that the prices were to bad.

Re Moke Kit at Donnington
Thanks Mk3 Rob,
Thought I had seen it somewhere on this site, not bought a new kit for over 20 years, so perhaps out of touch with prices.
Can only compare the Turn-key model with a brand new mid spec Fiat 500, bought in 2009, that cost me just under £10k from a dealer.
Cheers RG.

Re: Un reg Un finished Mk3
If i could ad a little to this, having spoke to the guy who sent his cub for iva, it struggled because the back end was sooo light he had to retest it with aditional weight in the boot area. Quite a large amount of ballast by all accounts. The brakes would lock up on the test at the rear. He also only got the sharp front edges to pass by having those bog bull bars on. Such a shame the test has been divised to kill off such vehicles.

Agreed
Can't help but think, IVA was a plot by EU to kill off British Kit Car industry!!

Re: Un reg Un finished Mk3
It wasn't the Anderson I was thinking of, it was this one:
http://www.jimini.co.uk/kitcar/
The Jimini which I thought had been re-introduced not long ago, but modified for Metro bits.

Jimini not Cub
I am afraid I haven't heard of a Jimini update or revival. It was definitely the Cub I was on about.
