A Scamp as we know it, with a blown V8, could be quite interesting.
Now who do we know who drags scamps? Scamp for Sale Ferret-9

Scamp for Sale Empty Scamps in Competitions

Post  NG Guy Thu Dec 05, 2013 1:19 pm

Don't know anyone who "drags" Scamps; but there used to be a couple of Mk1's that did auto-tests and the like about 10-20 years ago.

Changing the sport, is anyone interested in trying MCC Classic Reliability Trials in a Scamp, at the moment the dominant kit cars in this sport are Marlins and the Liege (either Reliant or Suzuki based); 4x4 are NOT allowed but I think there is a front wheel drive (only) class and there are definitely classes for kit cars and specials.

Scamp for Sale Empty Classic Trials

Post  Mr Bridger Fri Dec 06, 2013 10:55 am

I have been taking part in Classic Trials for 4 years now.
Since the Scamp Club have reduced the number of greeen laning and off roading events, I had been looking elsewhere for my dirty pleasures.
I first went marshalling with Aldi and Mike Bingham on The Clee Hills Trial in Shropshire
I then took part in the London to Exeter in January four years ago with Aldi in his Skoda ( class 4 ).
Since then I have been competeing in my trusty Rickman with the President on various events around the country including the London to Edinburgh in October 2011.
Perhaps a few others should try it, it is great fun and they are a friendly lot and there are some fantastic cars out, including Morgans, early Escorts, mark one and two, Anglia's, sit up and beg Ford pops, not forgetting Avengers and even the odd Scimitar.................

Scamp for Sale Empty MCC Trials

Post  NG Guy Fri Dec 06, 2013 11:09 am

Thanks for your reply Mr Bridger,

I really wasn't aware that anyone in the SOC did this kind of event! I have just missed out on a "ride" as a navigator / bouncer on the Clee Hills Trial (2014) in a Reliant based Liege - the guy had a vacancy then his daughter became available to take up the "bouncers seat" .

Is it possible to do these kind of events in a Scamp, though, and if so what would be the one with the Best chance of getting around the course?

Best Regards Rob G, aka NG Guy.
