Hello all,

I've not posted on here before but have got a Scamp mark III for sale and thought this would be probably be the best place to post first! I built it around 10 years ago based off a 1000cc C-reg mini (1985?). It runs well and I was driving it round last summer, but isn't MOT'd or insured at the moment. I'm reluctantly looking to find a good home for it as I'm afraid my personal circumstances have changed and I'm just not going to have time or money for it in future. Sad Problem is I've got no idea how much it would be worth or where I could find someone that would be interested in it? Last resort would be eBay but if anyone has any better suggestions they would be gratefully received! Smile

Cheers

Rupert

Hi Rupert

Looking at how the prices are going on Ebay at the moment then that is possibly the best route.

There are 2 on the go at the moment which i have put links to in this Sales and Wants part of the Forum.

Nice Scamp!

Ebay is probably the best place to sell it but the prices are a bit erratic. The most important bit is what does the V5 say? Is it correctly registered as a Scamp or does it still say it's a mini?

hi OSR, yup I checked the V5 and it is definitely registred as a "Scamp Mk III" Didnt realise that was important so thanks for the tip-off! What's the significance of what its registered as?

Well, some Scamp kits never got finished, and the only V5 they have is that of the donor vehicle. The introduction of Single Vehicle Approval some* years ago means they can now never be put on the road. Sad So a Scamp needs some sort of evidence that it was in use, as a Scamp, before the SVA regs came in. A V5 that says "Scamp" or "rebuilt" is about as good evidence as you can get. Smile

* meaning I can't be a55ed to look it up
