Snow tyres on,home from the pub early because it's hacking with snow at the moment, ready for a play in the morning.(new thermostat also fitted so that the heater works at slower speeds - vents to atmosphere at higher speeds)

There's not much here now either. We went out again at 10.00 this sunny morning, and the roads were already clearer than last night (which is unusual, coz it normally freezes over night). Booooo!
Then I went over to Smisby and Mr J went up the farm.
Oh well, at least we had a good rally around the lanes last night.

Re: Are all the Keen Scampers out playing in the snow?
Tony, Mark, Chris, Nic, Dawn, her boyfriend Stewart and not forgetting the dog, went out in Taz and the Paj this am around our local green lanes, but, like elsewhere, the thaw had set in and not much snow anywhere on the roads.
Tony, apparently did very nearly find out the point at which a mk 3 would roll...it twitched with one wheel over a gulley and the whole car spun and tried to roll. Just managed to steer out of it. Those in the Paj behind thought it was going over.
Tony says it's the closest he's been to rolling without the intention of doing so.
And where was I...?
Sat at home with piles of books and records to complete before tomorrow! Oh well, better get back to it! (Only a few more hours to go before I will have finished)

I've been out playing with the scamp in the snow...
Well welding the scamp in the snow to be more precise...
Between the welder & the hot air gun got most of the snow melted around the front of the car.
Had some fun in the astra dropping the munchkin home last night. Helped the staff at corley services by handbrake turning most of the carpark

On saturday night we had folks frantically waving their arms at us trying to warn us not to go up Dumps Hill (they must have thought we didn't know the area), so we drove up it, then down it, then up it again. They sorta got the idea then....
It was best around Ulverscroft & Low Woods, 5" of virgin snow on the roads and some good drifts as well. It was coming down thick & fast enough to cover our tracks from 15-20mins earlier without a trace. The blizzard conditions up on the high lanes made driving very interesting at times, we were flicking between high & low beam, and couldn't see more than a few feet in front of us with either. Which could have had its consequences when the roads, ditches & drystone walls all looked the same.... but eh, that's all part of the fun!
Looking out of the window our road's still bad, and the cars are really struggling to get along it, but we all know the roads at each end will be totally clear, and sadly I don't think we'll be getting anymore snow for a while.
