Yellow Mk3 on eBay

That would be a McLean Scamp Mk3 then and not a Mandry,and I don't think somehow it would be based on a Moke,I've seen a Scamp based on an Innocenti Mini before,but not one based on a Moke.

I've a note of that registration OUAT being on a black Mk2, so maybe it's registered as a Mandry.

Can you spot the mistakes the MOT tester missed and the new owner will have to do if he does not want the Boys in blue giving them an Improvement notice and a on the spot fine of £30...... but it still looks a good plaything once it has been checked over, just incase there are a few more things he missed !!! Happy bidding.

Go on I've had another look as I am looking for a scamp would be good to know whats wrong

Its like one of those "Spot the difference" competitions ! I am not certain that the number plate light is missing but I can see another definate 3 faults........ can you ? I've just seen another one...that's 4 now.

You're right about the number plate lamps, unless there's a set of LEDs recessed in the frame. This used to be one of those grey areas - being required by Licensing regulations, they weren't originally covered by the MoT which was more concerned with Construction and Use things. Then it was OK not to have them if they weren't fitted as original equipment. Now they are required, according to the current regs available on-line here.

No rear fog light - a Mk3 with a W plate presumably got the registration, and its identity, from a donor so this is OK if the donor was registered before 1st April 1980.

Can't see any screenwash jets, but the reservoir and piping are visible under the bonnet so presumably they're there. Anyway, that's not the sort of thing a tester is likely to miss. Two mirrors (offside and internal) fitted, clear indicators at the front but with amber bulbs, side repeaters present. Bonnet, roof panel, spare wheel all have secure fastenings. Give up.

Yes ive read the add but being of that age (The car not me) those front wheels do look a little way back.............

It deffo has a long nose but if you look you can see the Mini single bolt tower bolts in the engine bay. I think the extra length is due to the front mounted rad.

It also looks a little odd as it doesn't have extended radius arms on the back.

The windscreen looks odd to me. Maybe it's half nomad

The repositioned door hinges are a nice touch - I'm surprised it hasn't been done before. Or has it, and me just being plain unobservant?

The missing items are 1, nearside mirror
2, interior rear view mirror
3, rear fog light
4, rear reflectors
and maybe rear registration light !
and he wants £1200 for quick sale !!!!!!!

A least if those are the only 4 things wrong with it they will be easy to fix.

So long as you fix them before the "People in blue" don't give a £30 fixed penalty fine and a improvement notice.......

Sorry to have to disagree, but
1) with an interior mirror fitted, a nearside mirror isn't obligatory except on vans
2) The interior mirror is there all right. Check the rear view with the hood fitted.
3) A rear fog light isn't needed on cars registered before 1st April 1980.

I think you're right about the reflectors though - they don't seem to be built into the rear lamps either.

And he might claim the clear section in the inward facing side of the rear lights the number plate, but the 40mm box in the way might limit this !
