GREETINGS FROM ITALY
Buenosierra fellow Scampers, whilst you are all lapping it up in rain and showers in dear old blighty, just think of poor old me having to endure the 30 deg c of sunshine and the bar at the bottom of the aprtment path, sitting drinking ice cold beers on the shores of lake Garda, life's a bitch ain't it!!On a more serious note though we went in search of a wargrave yesterday near the town of Udine,my mother's only brother was shot down over here in WW2 and he was burried there, and I think the only visitors he's ever had is my Mother and Father about 27 years ago.The book of the graveyard paints an idealic picture of how our soldiers were laid to rest in the middle of open farmland with the backdrop of the alps.Time has moved on though, and guess what,it's now a war gaveyard surrounded by a retail park!!Still, having come all this way,we paid our respects in that quiet little area of a retail park, still immaculately cared for as you would expect.

Re: GREETINGS FROM ITALY
Sounds like you're having a good time. There aren't very many places in this world that I really want to go but Italy is top of my list

Chris,
Is this the uncle you were telling me about that was in the Pathfinder Squadron .
The chap who helped bomb the Villa Regina in Turin ( the gangs hide out ) whilst on a raid on the FIAT factory.

Re: GREETINGS FROM ITALY
He was a little further over than Turin so I'm not sure what his target was,he is buried 4 km north of Udine which is in the furthest north-west spot of Italy,he was a navigator (one wing badge) and was part of the 614 pathfinder Squadren
