Blast from the past
Last weekend i went with my mini club to the Steam Fair outside Pewsey, Wilts.
Whilst waiting in Marlborough market Square to meet up with the others i was approached by a gentleman who said "I know what this is" expecting the ussual Moke comment, i said go on then.....he said "Its a Mk3 Scamp, I used to have a Mk2".
His name is Colin (?) Lancaster and used to be in the Scamp Club in the 80's. He now lives in Pewsey.
He sends his regards to one and all especially the Wezgit, John Halliday and the other John .
Mid afternoon at the show he caught up with me and showed his photo's from the 80's Scamp events, especially the now embarassing ones of Elaine, Robin and others, nice hair cuts folks .

Re: Blast from the past
Don't suppose his MK2 was black was it? My MK2 was built by a guy in Pewsey and was living in Marlborough when I bought it.

Re: Blast from the past
No,it was a white Mk2'd Mk1(converted Mk1).He was a very active member back in the late 80's early 90's,his boys were heavily into Motor Cycle Scrambling. He arranged a good do at the back of a pub in Pewsey,I remember the local store as well,it was owned by an Indian Elvis fan so over the top of the shop was "Grace Londis" "Elvis Patel" .Colin did pop his head round the door of our garage a couple of years ago, totally out of the blue.Nice family.
