LANDROVER TDI
If you follow the forum you would have seen my bit about me purchasing a Landrover Discovery during the snow, well I took it into work on Saturday and realised what sort of project it was!! And as I havn't got the time for such a project and the mot being due in February it has to go. So,if you are interested it's on Ebay. Follow the link;

Re: LANDROVER TDI
It must be the season!
Paj for sale!
It has to go! HE has bought a new toy - supposedly for work use!
(What I want to know is... Why do you need a vehicle to do 180mph in 4 wheel drive to go and do odd jobs at people's houses?)
It is fun to drive though!

Re: LANDROVER TDI
Yeh,it was great fun while it lasted,I don't think this one would do 180mph though, the massive wheels and tyres made it so high geared you hardly got into 5th gear and it was a bit like driving a series one Landrover, the steering arms were at such an angle it had a mind of it's own at speed. It got me and our Ben into work a couple of days in the thickest of the snow though.

My absolute bargain was won by an absolute prat,he's just realised he hasn't got the money!!Second chance offer time now to the next bidder down the line on ebay.
Don't you just hate it when that happens? But,I suppose, when a thing looks too good to be true,it normally is!!

At least he's contacted you. Sold a set of wheels before Xmas and didn't hear a word from the buyer. By the time all the minimum time limits had passed we were in to the holiday so the wheels are still sat in my office waiting to go back on next month.

Hasn't got the money? I hope you've reported the retard to e-bay. Get him struck off before he has chance to do it again.

Won't make much difference Ebay very rarely strike anyone off. All the buyer will get is a non-paying buyer strike and the best you can do is block bids from buyers with either 2 unpaid strikes in the last month or 4 breach of policy reports in the last 6 months or a feedback score of less than 0. Even if Ebay did strike them off all they'd do is open a new account on a different email addy.

Belper? that's a fair old trek do to you for an old Disco. Still e-bay makes us do silly things like that.

Re: LANDROVER TDI
Well we handed over the Disco to one happy bunny,he was chuffed to bits with it and has big plans for it as a purpose offroader. So for those Belperonians it's a gold 3 door Disco with an Eastbourne reg.number (HC).Having got frostbite to my toes on the drive up to the M25,I can't say it was the most comfortable motorway vehicle.

Re: LANDROVER TDI
Well, yet another ebay time waster. Contacted us to see if he could come and have a look - replied 'of course just ring us' never came - bid - won - came to 'collect' and decided it didn't look as good as it did on the pictures. - When were they taken? 'Just before I listed it. It needs a wash but it is just as described on ebay.' Reminded him that he should have come to look before bidding - oh I didnt have time! 'That's your problem, not ours!' Just give me 5 minutes. So we did - and guess what - He legged it!!!!
Offered to second chance offer. He offered us £200 LESS than he had bid - Over the phone!!!!! Replied sweetly and pleasantly that we would NOT sell it for that, upped his offer to £50 more - cos he would have to make an expensive long journey to fetch it. Reminded that he would have had to do that if he had won the bidding. Repeated the offer - cash. Felt like saying some very rude things!!!! but did restrain myself.
Paj now relisted.
What really bugs me is I cannot leave bad feedback until I have waited 4 days after bidding closes, then they investigate, but he can leave bad feedback immediatly!

Re: LANDROVER TDI
A friend of ours has just had a similar problem. Listing clearing said car was a non-runner as didn't have fuel tank fitted. A lad won it, turned up to collect then complained it wasn't running. Went away and came back with a fuel tank to try and get it running. Then decided he wasn't going to pay what he'd bid and offered ridiculously less money etc etc. And because they wouldn't sell at a silly price, he's left them negative feedback.
Unfortunately ebay is full of time wasters and morons these days!

Re: LANDROVER TDI
I always thought that you entered a legal contract when you bought something,or,at least, bid the highest price. It seems that that this is not the case, especially on Ebay. Good luck with your relisting Tony,at least my second chance buyer was an honerable sort.

Re: LANDROVER TDI
Well, have now withdrawn it from sale as Nic has decided to replace her Galant with it!
So, apart from letting it go rather cheaper than even our second chance offer, the good news is - we still have the Paj if we need it!!!
Then we still have the damn thing on the drive taking up space!
Oh well, c'est la vie!
