BROOKLANDS MINI SHOW
Just to give you plenty of notice;
Brooklands Mini Show is on Sunday the 27th of March 2011. If we can get enough members to attend I will organise a stand, as they normally need loads of notice I would need to know early. If you want more details on how to get there and where it is just follow this link;

Re: BROOKLANDS MINI SHOW
We would be more than glad to see you there, perhaps we can press gang you into joining at the exorbitant cost of £13.00 then you would be covered by our club's liability insurance, something most of these type of events insist clubs have now in case you run over the odd little 3 year that might be running riot.Plus the fact there is the "Test Hill" of which I'm prety sure you will need the liability insurance or you won't be able to do it. I have the application forms now for the test hill (you can only go up if you book in advance), I also have forms for the club stand, and members advanced entry forms.Entry is £8.00 in advance and covers the Aircraft museum,the Car museum,the Mini exibits,basically everything there apart from the "Concorde" experiance.

Re: BROOKLANDS MINI SHOW
I know the show well, for our little mini club its the season opener as its about half an hour down the road but it would great to effectively attend with two clubs! I may even be able to get another local Scamp on the stand a Mk2 lwb if its on the road!
Tell me more about this liability cover? Does it just cover my scamp or does it cover me?
I understand youre the man to talk to about organising scamp events daan sarf! Ive just created a littke facebook group called SSOC Southern Scamp Owners Club, so if you or anybody you know would like to join I'd appreciate the interest

Re: BROOKLANDS MINI SHOW
Our public liability covers the club and it's members against third party claims only. For example someone walks into your scamp so decides to employ an ambulance chasing solicitor to receive compensation. But I It doesnt cover you driving into someone on private land.
Re: BROOKLANDS MINI SHOW
I stand corrected,thanks for putting us straight.
It would certainly be good to get some more interest "Daan Saaf", we are actually holding an event,over the second May bank holiday,in Hastings next year. Dear old Fred Cake set the scamp owner's club up in the late 70's early 80's it has remained quite a strong membership over the years so gaining more members in different parts of the country is a real bonus. There are other events down south where we do try and raise interest, such as the Southern Mini days and Tinker's Park steam engine rally. Normally just the few local ones turn up, but given plenty of notice those from "Ooop Nerth" sometimes attend.

Re: BROOKLANDS MINI SHOW
Rob says they get the bends if they come too far down
Will have to try those ones then! Although Ive never done any off roading so will have to go to a proper scamp meet too!

Re: BROOKLANDS MINI SHOW
Yes,it is surprising,there is a south of Watford Gap. Rick found some excellant green laning in the Portsmouth area,but now he's one those up North members.So, if any of you out there are from that area,and can organise a do,I'm sure there will be takers.

Re: BROOKLANDS MINI SHOW
Hi there you Southeners, There are plenty of green lanes down there. I have been around MK1 Daves house what a nice bloke had a cup of tea hence all southeners drink tea plenty of it. The area of green lanning we used to use is Fourmarks, Medstead, Bighton, Preston-Candover, Weild, Selbourne, there are loads of them. I remember James saying he loved it down there green lanning. I will be putting on a Hampshire Holiday this coming year we will be camping at Hayling Island and the people who want to go to the beach or around the area ie Portsmouth will have plenty to do and see, and us keen green laners can go off on days green lanning..Just to say it really soft lanes so do need sump guards but M+S tyres are a must..Just to put the record straight I am a southener that lives oup narff.......
