that top rad hose does not look right
The head at least looks OK (see this month's Mini Magazine p.95). Is that really a 1275 rad though?

Mmmm, I'd sent him a question asking what model is actually stated on the log book, and he's replied Scamp. I do notice that he hasn't publicised my question on Ebay though...

I dunno, but here are some more Q & A's he's listed:

How long have you owned the Scamp?
How many miles are on the clock, and how many of those have you driven yourself?
How long has that engine been in it?
And when was it last on the road?

iv owend it 1 years it bean off the road 19 years my frends dad had it befor me he got it in 1991 with full mot on it he then stripped it dawn 2 paint and that was as far as he got and it had sat in his garige ever sins till i got it
it has 20713 on the clock but i think its had another in it as i have 3 in the box ov spers.
iv never had it on the road as havent had the time 2 finish it the engine was it it when he got it

Autocheck has Q287 FVT down as a blue Bedford MT 15-18 light van
I suppose it's always possible that Autocheck got it wrong, especially if nobody had occasion to correct them. And (according to Wiki at least) Bedford never made a model "MT".

The engine number looks about right for a 1275 - it might be a factory recon.

Yeah, it seems Autocheck is incorrect on this occasion.
I don't know anything about Bedford vans, so wikipedia could be right. Don't trust everything you read on there though....it's written by the general public!

It is indeed a 1275 engine.

12H390 1275GT with alternator, negative earth, mechanical fuel pump and remote type gearbox.

I can narrow it down to between December 1970 and April 1973.

Anorak mode off.............

( I could win mastermind if it was not for the general knowledge questions..........)
