Sorry to get on my soapbox but those C**ksuckers (Tommy affectionate wartime name for Yanks) have been crashing their oil tankers into our coastline for years and I don't see them queueing up to pay for the clean up operations that followed those incidents.

Don’t know why America is so up worried about the spill, usually they have to invade a country to get free oil but BP are delivering it direct to they shore. Just the thing for commuters Icon_biggrin

With an American company operating the rig,it must be the Brits to blame!!!!!!!!!!!
As far as the compressed air car it must have one hell of a storage tank, just think of the wait at the air station to fill up,if anyone drives a truck that's low on air will know what I mean. And how about the energy needed to drive the compressor to fill your car up with compressed air??Perhaps they have found perpetual motion, an engine to drive the compressor to fill the tank up to drive the engine??

Yeah right !!!!! I've used air tools in the past and the amount of air you need to run just a dye grinder is ridiculous. That thing can't have much of a range

Air Car - I tend to be cynical about these miracle solutions.... !

Tomorrow's World (Jon Snow) tested one around northern Italy. I seem to remember that he was keen but the vehicle was slightly crude in a "G Wiz" sort of a way.

BBC – Report http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/2281011.stm

The compressors (to refuel) can be run on renewable power (solar) and there is no reason why you could re-fuel overnight using a basic (but quiet) compressor. Refuel can be done quickly with the right system.

The "tank" on the prototype was moulded into the monocoque.
It would be under high pressure but would not explode in an accident…….and is not flammable.

Styling left something to be desired….but that’s simply remedied.

It sounds simple and I almost want it to work so that it’s a poke in the eye for the oil producers and engine producers, etc

Current Air Car Technology – http://www.mdi.lu/english/miniflowair.php

Porsche also seem to think that there something to this technology…….. admittedly in a different way - http://www.popsci.com/cars/article/2008-09/high-compression-running-porsche-air

Would that be a roller mill, as used by paint manufacturers?
