For my 2p worth - I hope there's holes in the bonnet bulge else there's no lovely cool air getting to the carb either .
Looks like a lot of welding has been done on the front, with not much thought about style ! Ok a Scamp will never compare against some an Ultima for sheer style, but still...

I think you may find that Robert Mandry did do a MK1 with a very similar style front end. Although it did use a standard MK1 bonnet.
I think Mr Yates may have a photo or 2 of a red one? It had ATO as part of its reg number and belonged to a lad called Luke Todd.
I have found it, but being a complete computer numpty don't know how to post the photo (I know you have told me how to do it Admin but I'm thick like that)
Anyway, photo is on the Scamp Owners website, go to Old Scamp Photos and choose the MK2's it is right near the bottom underneath a photo of Chris' car.
