Himley Hall Empty Himley Hall

Post  muttley Tue May 12, 2009 12:02 am

Yesterday we ventured over to Himley Hall Mini Show.

We met up a with Colin,Debbie,Maisy & Charlie, Tony,Lin,Nic & Chris, and Dawn.

It took us 1hr 15 mins (45miles) to get there and Tony & Lin the same time (5 miles) Question

For us 1hr travelling 15 mins queuing, for Tony & Lin 15 mins Travelling 1 hr queuing. Crying or Very sad

It was quite a reasonble sized show with quite a few club stands, and all of the major suppliers were there.

I managed to pick some bargains from Mini Spares and Mini Sport.....managed to knock them down abit and no postage and packaging. bounce .....but couldn't carry anymore.

Tony managed to pick up a clutch slave cylinder bracket for Taz.

It's a pity we didn't have a stand.....even with a couple of cars it would have been good.

There was no "mini" only car park so we were left in the normal car park.....so no one got to see us ! Crying or Very sad
And I was armed with stickers and T-shirts Cool

There was one Scamp on the show.......Notts Mini Owners I think.....the green MK2, no roof, windscreen, enclosed back.....I tried to have a chat but the guy wasn't interested, and went for an Ice Cream.
I don't think it was anything I said !

Tony & Lin invited us all back for coffee....an offer we couldn't refuse.

I manage to judge the journey time their house perfectly Wink ......Colin and Tony had almost finished fitting the clutch slave cylinder by the time we arrived.......well there wasn't much point in all of us getting our hands dirty ! I supervised the completion of the operation with coffee cup in hand, giving moral support Twisted Evil

Journey home was busy.....and the rain held off......but Embarassed I ran out of petrol but only when I was going up hill ! Laughing Quick refill and we were quickly home.

I think we should do Stanford Hall does anyone else fancy any others ?

Himley Hall Empty Trying again

Post  Mk3rob Tue May 12, 2009 7:02 pm

Doh mutter, mutter, mutter
Dont know what happened last time, i wrote a big speal (?) and then it vanished when i hie send!!!!

Hi Dave, there seems to be a theme of lateness of your trips Twisted Evil

I'm glad you enjoyed Himley Hall, i went last year and it was blistering hot and packed. They were forced to have traffic lights at the main gates as it was manic and the cops were threatening to close them down as the roads were so congested. Thats what happens when you have to go in and out of the same narrow gateway.
Unfortunately my gaffers they say NO!. Go and steam clean the inspection pit.

Stanford Hall (13th Sept) sounds good, i will be there either with the Mini club or SOC.

How about Gaydon on 4/5th July, You can arrive on the 4th to camp overnight with entertainment and then have the show on the 5th, with free entry into the Heritage Museum.

Malvern 25th Oct Indoors event, you have to book a stand to get indoors.

Xmas Do ????????????

Dave, i will be going to Mike and Wendys if you can wait for the dosh, otherwise please PM me.
