Not to pry but was the vehicle a let down in any particular way at all?

I am very interested in your reason(s) for the disappointment and seeing the partial reg in ebay; I believe it was my old/last Mk3 Scamp.

If so the first/owner builder was one of Andrew Maclean's sisters. It used to have an 1100cc A series engine.

NG, yes could possibly be your old vehicle, was very tired when I bought it but has be refurbished with lots of new panels etc, its complete with doors and correctly registered with current MOT and TAX. I stupidly rebuilt it using a 1000 cc engine unit and that's what dissapoints me , It realy needs a 1275 as I was wanting to use it as a daily driver, and it's not ideal on the open road.
great fun to drive, currently on 12in Wellas with M&S tyres, a real show stopper. no rear seat I'm afraid, but easilly fitted. Problem is that's it's not the ideal vehicle for sitting out over the winter, cos there just not enough room in the garage for storage.

can see where you are coming from re-built my mk2 with a cooper 998 spec 1000 first time round....fine around town but on the motorway etc....not enough go...1380 solves that one  

Thanks for the update, wish I had room for it, two/three months ago put a deposit on a new Cub and that should have arrived by now.

I think a larger engine (1100cc) if shorter non-motorway journeys or a 1275 if must use M-ways would be the answer. I hope you get the "right" money for your Mk3 soon.
