Hello from Giz
Hi, I'm Gizbo.
I live in the wilds of Wiltshire (so much more romantic than 'just outside Swindon'!), and I don't own a Scamp - yet. Hopefully I'll find a reasonably sorted one in the near future (the wife won't let me buy another 'project') and will be able to hassle everyone here with lots of silly questions. I've owned a few unusual cars over the years, but nothing like one of these little beasties - I'm looking forward to it, and so is my son who wants to learn to drive in one!
Here's to filling the forum with drivel!!

Re: Hello from Giz
Welcome to the forum
Just give us a shout if you need any buying advice and it's worth posting a wanted ad on the For Sale & Wanted board. BTW I take it SWMBO doesn't realise that buying an on the road one doesn't mean it's not going to be a project

Scamp WEb Site
At the moment I get very few "For Sale" Scamp adverts for the web site.
Most Scamp adverts seem to get place on eBay !!

Scamp for sale
Hi there,
I have a Scamp for sale.
I was about to put it on E bay but would rather sell to a Scamp Club member.

Re: Hello from Giz
Tee-Hee! So I'm now the proud owner of a black Mk3 - Thanks Steve!!
Drove it back from the picnic on Staturday - what a shame we didnt take a tent, it looked really good fun! Got some strange looks - my 10yr old Zacc and I cruising along with big grins on our faces, closely followed by Fiona in the Mustang getting jealous that we were getting all the looks. We got back with no problem, other than Zacc having an ever longer list of things he wants to do to it - or rather things he wants ME to do to it!
After driving it around the in-laws field for two hours on Monday, Zacc has decided it's called Ian (probably a common name for one of these ) and has already planned how we're going to dressed it up for NEXT years carnival.
It was really neat to see so many Scamps on Saturday, and so many people playing with them (should it be 'scamping'?)
Look forward to seeing you all soon, and starting on the dumb questions.
Kevin & Zacc / Gizbo
PS Why Gizbo? - Half Gizmo, half Bimbo - a small gadget of little or no use

Castle Combe - Sept
Hi Gizbo
As well as Scamping i also belong to the Funkey Monkey Mini Club based in W Bassett.
On the 24th Sept we will be attending Castle Coombe for the annual Mini Show.
Along with the club mini's i will be there with my Scamp ...........well they need someone to take the Pppppppp out of. We are normally backed up to the racetrack fence by the pit exit.
My Scamp has been out on the track in the year of the Mini 50th, unfortunately it was only for the parade lap which turned out to be a pedestrian lap due to the large numbers there.
Hope to see you there
Rob
