hi, i have used 5mm for the floor.I also have 3mm to make inner walls and 2mm flat for my outer skin. I think 3mm probably would have been alright now that i have welded in some extra box for support

Blimey... the "official" new name for your Scamp project is..Tank ! affraid ....... Very Happy Very Happy

I've just checked and as-built "body" panels are 1/16" or 1.6mm......having said that, my floor panel is likely to be considerably thicker too Cool

After a tree root came through the (admittedly rusty) steel toe board on my Mk1, during the subsequent rebuild I replaced most of it with 10 gauge. The bonnet and a couple of replacement ali panels are 2mm. The rest, including the floor, are original. No problems so far.

10 years was certainly a long time ago. Rolling Eyes

10 years on and the Monster is still king! If competition improves the breed then surely someone in the Scamp club has got have a go at moving the game forward in the next few years.

So what's next? K-series? BMW Mini? the mother of all A-series? Very Happy
