Hi folks. I have been keeping an eye on the Scamp scene for years now and recently been watching the for sale section to see if anything comes up near me. I have been made aware of a Mk 3 frame, in excellent condition, partially build but never registered. It comes with a Metro log book which the owner thinks I should be able to use to register the vehicle as a rebodied car. What do you think? I would love to build this up but would I be wasting my time / money in trying to get it registered. Any advice would be welcomed. drink

Hi Martin,

Welcome to the forum......

Nothing's impossible but registering and SVA'ing a Scamp would be a challenge.

There are quite a few Scamps come up for sale......it's just a case of waiting for the the "right" especially with your location.

You could try "Mr Bridger" he's usually got Scamps for rebuilding.

Dave,

Thanks for that. I have now been pointed in the direction of a very rough Mk1. Could I restore it and end up with a Mk 3. How do I contact Mr. Bridger, just in case?

Martin.

Hi Martin,
Am a little confused - why would you want to end up with a mk3 Question Just take the Mk 1, do it up and have a mk1 Exclamation Quite frankly, with a Scamp, you can do what you want with them. There are not two that look the same! People cut bits off and add bits on as they wish. It is important to make sure you have a log bk with 'Scamp' or something though - NOT the name of the original donor vehicle.
Mr. Bridger is on the forum. Try finding one of his posts and sending him a 'pm' with queries.
Oh, and welcome! cheers
