Elaine, you evidently have access to a smiley or two over and above the regular ones. Might I ask where to find them?

Stourport 2009
Short and sweet just like my other half A Big thanks to Martin & Nettie for all your hard work over this event,in fact a big thankyou to everyone as its a Team effort. My vote is pay per person and on the gate or order a ticket in advance. Most even if not in a scamp can blag a lift or a drive from others. As ive said you try going to a pay & play do elsewhere and those prices are for one day only. there is a lot of unseen work goes into these events as those that pack up and clear off before the field is delittered wont know about.why should anyone have to de litter the field if you make sure you take away what you bring. 2 yrs ago the "sheep" were ransacking our end of the campsite late at night due to food and litter being left out over night. how about a simple ticket system for the barbacue (yes i went twice after everyone had been but some treat it as a merry go round) what about i hog roast prices? from previous events?. As its been asked but i cant find it can you say the cost of the site please.canes and barrier tape no problem for Auto test/trials just ask.Any help with assisting count me in. save a seat on the meal in feb ,caravan slot booked for Hope. May have to delay holiday in Oz for that event. Dont forget theres a 4x4 show at Donnington for the few with 4WD,s in Feb.Ttfn 4x4 Rob.

Nic did ask us some time ago if we thought anyone would be interested in a day off-roading in a Forestry Commision owned forest - £40 per car. I hope no one minds, but I said - 'I don't think so!' For that, you were expected to follow a Commision vehicle!
So - £20 per car per weekend - or £15 per person - or whatever - IT'S a BARGAIN!!!!!

Re: Stourport 2009
Correctamundo! We wouldn't have minded the £40, BUT following a Commission vehicle........... NO WAY!

It would be OK if the Commission vehicle were a Scamp, of course... (smiley needed: with wings)

Scamp Picnic 2009
Hi eveeryone
Just an update.
1 we do have the site
2 The cost is up from £250 to £350 a 40% increase.
The loos they have are old and battered (red ones) he cleanes them and empties them himself. I know this because Mike kindly went and had a look for me. If we have a weekend like last year or even better and they get very unpleasant to use no one will be happy.
3 Elliota are cutting the hire charge to £150 and we know they are cleaned and sanitised properly when they are delivered.
4 We have to cover the cost for these two at least without thinking about the barbi and plaques.
5 We are not big enought to make losses at this event and Mikes, we have insurance, magazine and glass membership to cover.
The fact is that we wil need to have 34 adults (16 and over) at £15 a head this is without the barbi and plaque costs.
Those are the facts so there neds to be some more deliberation. I am aiming to be impartialas to how the costs are covered as at that time I will have stood down from the position of secretary.
Nettie

Re: Stourport 2009
Just as easy to keep count on these pages ... as long as everyone remembers to update and include the running total.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I presume Mk3rob makes 10, and Mac 11.
Halfway there already (and several regulars not yet included).

Re: Stourport 2009
Do we really need loos?
Poop in a bag I say!
On a more serious note, there must of been more than 36 adults last year (of course that's no guarentee of numbers this year, but it's a good a guide as anything).
What about us doing some sort of fund raising at the other shows we attend, for example a tombola at Stoneleigh. Members could donate a prizes, or someone more persuasive than me could even blag a years subscription from a kit car mag for a prize.........

Re: Stourport 2009
The world's going soft!!! We didn't have loos at Ottershaw, nor at Telford - not at first, anyway - it was either wait till you could get to a public one or disappear into the woods with an entrenching tool and loo roll. Never put your loo roll down on a slope, by the way.
And there were more people to cater for - a report in one of the old mags mentions numbers being down, only 30 Scamps at the Picnic...

Re: Stourport 2009
Don't blame us we did not start the portaloo thing, at least I don't think we did, wasn't it James? so its his fault blame him!!!!! It was for the ladies if I remember, if you notice it is all the men saying "why do we need loos - go in the woods" I bet there will be few posts from the ladies on this point. I expect Reg and Elaine will take theirs home to put on their "organic garden"

Re: Stourport 2009
Put me down for a possible 2.
My mate who can't drive his Disco thro water puddles definitely wants to come. If his Landy is back on or off the road we should have another support vehicle if required ! If not then we can all help to tow him out when he gets stuck again
Will have to miss the saturday, i'm daddy on saturdays, but should make it down on the night.
Erm 15 + 2 = 17 (i think, had to use a calculator, i'm at work so i've left my brain at home!)
