Top Arm Bearings - Again!
Right managed to get the old ones out and the new ones in - so far, so good. Had a dry run this morning at fitting the new pin and it won't fit through one of the bearings, neither will the old pin. I then checked the bearings and the rollers are locked solid on both exactly the same as the old ones I'd taken out. I originally thought the old ones had seized due to all the grease leaking out and dirt going in but as the new ones are rock solid I wonder if the old ones were the same when they were first fitted and that caused the seal to fail rather then the seal failing causing the bearings to seize? Also this arm has definitely had more recent bearings & pin then the other side which has lovely free bearings and no wear on the pin.
Has anyone ever had a similar problem? Or any ideas as to how to solve it? So far all the suggestions we've come up with involve removing the bearings which would be a right PITA.
TIA, Charlie - wondering if the MK2 will ever be running again.......

Re: Top Arm Bearings - Again!
I have come across this before you are running a mk1 top arm that used to run a bronze bush on the one side buy putting a bearing both sides the bush was a bit smaller so buy pushing a bearing in to a smaller hole locks it up .
Re: Top Arm Bearings - Again!
Well that makes sense of posts I've seen on the mini forums talking about bushes being part of the kit. Thing is it's both bearings are seized was the MK1 roller bearing also smaller then the later ones? Think I'll need to get a later spec top arm, if any one has a spare passenger side one they'd like to exchange for some beer tokens drop me a pm.
