Removing Top Arm Needle Bearings

Removing Top Arm Needle Bearings Empty Removing Top Arm Needle Bearings

Post  OSR on Tue Sep 20, 2011 6:52 pm

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get them out? So far I've tried knocking out with a drift which has removed the inner case and the rollers but the outer bearing case seems very well attached to the arm and doesn't want to move. Is finding someone with a welding torch to leave on it until it glows red then try knocking through with a drift again the only option?

Remove blade from tool, place through hole and re attach.

Saw ing through the outer race will allow the tension to release and should then be able to drift out.

Its worked for me on other bits in the past

Or you could use a Sabre saw if you live near electricity. Laughing
