Easter weekend - Leicestershire
Due to circumstances beyond their control, Deb and Colin are not able to come to the Easter weekend that they had arranged.
Tony and I have said we will do our best to take over if people are still keen to go ahead.
Please let us know - on here or any other way you can, if you are still wishing to go. We believe that some folks have changed their minds and we really need to know if the weekend is a goer or not. We want to confirm chalets on 8th April so, if there are not enough people coming, and we do have to cancel, it will give the site time to hire out the rooms.
If you know of people who have booked, can you please make sure that you let them know that they need to contact us please?
Many thanks
Deb and Colin send their apologies.

Re: Easter weekend - Leicestershire
I'm thinking of coming - but where is the campsite, and how big are the chalets? The website and the mag both say "same camp site as last year" which doesn't help me.

Re: Easter weekend - Leicestershire
Also had reply from Mike/Mark and at least one of them is coming so...
Great - it's still on!
It would be good to see you there Bob. The chalets are basically large motel rooms - shower room and large double bedroom.
There is a friendly, large bar in which we had a chinese take away one evening. Drinks are very reasonable and it is warm and cosy for an evening of light banter and drinking - something at which Scampers seems to excel.

Easter Weekend.
Have booked the Bank Holiday off work so I will be there with Fred.
Missed out on a Chalet, but will be taking the caravan instead.
See you all there...............
Rick and Rosie are going as well, as far as I am aware.

Brilliant!
Would be great to see you there. Have you managed to book a chalet or are you camping/caravanning?

Re: Easter weekend - Leicestershire
Well i am finally ready for the Easter weekend after replacing my clutch cylinder.
Now i know wht tony's Scamp has a hole in the front bulkhead through to the clutch and brake pedal pivot pins.
I took me 2 hours to get the bloody split pin out and i've got 35 years fittering experience. I took me 10 minutes to put a looped bit of wire back through. I'm not getting caught out like that again
So Scamp and trailer will be meandering along the A5 just after lunch.
I had better bring a lot of beer and whiskey with me as it otherwise looks like being a dry weekend.

Re: Easter weekend - Leicestershire
You love it, Rob!
If you lot are planning a visit to the George & Dragon sometime during this weekend, I recommend you try the Kiss Me Kate http://www.castlerockbrewery.co.uk/site/?page_id=3525 It's goes down very well, and could easily sweep you off your feet! Hic. And they've got Elvis on Saturday night if you fancy a jive.
See you's sometime over the weekend,
E&R.

Re: Easter weekend - Leicestershire
Just got Taz loaded up. I (Lin) have been using him for quite a few journeys to and from work recently and he seems to be fit and well - let's see what the lumps and bumps of dry mud ruts do to him by the end of the weekend!
Looking forward to seeing peoples and having a little drink or two

RE: Easter weekend Leicestershire.
Hi Well apart from a (small) amount of Dust, I can say we had another Scamp-tastic weekend,
I,d just like to thank everyone for making it a bloody good laugh.
Everyone mucking in and helping when needed as always, cheers for the lifts and the hospitality.
Shame its the same old crowd (Not that theres much wrong with you lot!)given the amount of unseen faces on the forum more people needed to give this club a future!
A slight let down by the camp site (No hot water for some) and prices (we should have paid by cheque ha ha ).
Looking forward to the Peak District next time?
A Big thank you to Colin and Debbie For organising the event )
See you all soon, 4x4 (but not anymore) Rob.
