Colway is back!

Colway is back! Empty Colway is back!

Post  TRR Motorsport on Thu Jan 13, 2011 9:42 pm

We were chatting to a polish company at the Autosport show that has bought the molds and is making Colway competition tyres once more. That means the Rally Plus is back and 165/70 10 gravel tyres should be available from April or May.

I think the guy was a little overwhelmed at the amount of interest he was getting in 10" tyres. seeing as the only other tyres available are £100 145x10 Maxsport Hakkers or £60 Kingpins (goodyear Ultragrip patten) this is very good news indeed. Very Happy

After chatting to people in the know at the HRCR open day I think it'll be a case of 'I'll believe it when i see it' regarding ever getting new 10" Colway Rally Plus tyres from Mark Gum imported to the UK.

And ever seeing a new 10" Dunlop SP44 is even more remote, despite the molds being known to exist in Japan.

Fingers crossed anyway.

Poland's only a 24hr drive away. And it sounds like a van load of 10" tyres would be a nice little earner... Wink

Fly out there on a £15 flight, then hire a van (that has a uk depot to return it to) for the journey back home!

If only it were that simple. Though i'm not putting the 'ins' and 'outs' of the story on here for the whole world to see. Will tell you when I see you.

Had some Colway snow tyres and had them studded, they were brilliant.I used them once in the Peak District on one of Robin's do's,I came out of the bomb hole a bit quick, they gripped but the inner driveshaft cage didn't and gave way.I kept the tyres behind the shed in plastic bags to prevent the sun getting to them, got them out last February to find they had all gone wrotten, mind you, they were probably 20 years old.Do you know if they are doing studable snow tyres again?
