Oh, don't talk to me about Fathers Day. It's a nightmare, what mine hasn't got, he doesn't want! And he lets you know it, slating anything & everything that you buy him.... Always ending the rant with, 'Take it back'!!!! Father's Day Gift Icon_mad

This year I'm going to stick some money in his card, which will either get thrown back at me, or given to the Grandkids! Father's Day Gift Icon_rolleyes

He always likes the witty cards that I get him though! Father's Day Gift Icon_cool

In my own family, Fathers Day was boycotted as spurious, the invention of greetings card manufacturers (Mothering Sunday, by contrast, was a genuine and long-established tradition, although its associated customs did not go as far as sending cards either). There was a lot to be said in favour of this practice, and I believe there still is.

I had a phone call from my Mum last night saying 'Your Dad doesn't want any presents, nor cards.... bloody waste of money!'

Me: 'Well tough, I've already got him a card, wrote it, and there's money inside!'
Mum: Oh dear, you know he'll give you the money back don't you?'
