Hi folks
Just thought I would introduce myself

My name is Frog , im from Northern Ireland and have had various minis and Mini based kit cars for a number of years now .

At the minute i have 3 scamps , a mk 3 , a mk 2 and a few months ago i aqquired the baby landrover off e bay. i also have aniother mk 1 , rather the worse for wear, which i hope to restore some day.

I met some of you at IMM this year and you seemed like a friendly bunch so i joined the owners club( well I think I have, I handed over my form and 13 quid to Rick, who muttered something about "breakfast on me!" and wandered off Very Happy
Anyway thats about it , just thought i better say hello.

Hi Frog,

Welcome to the forum.

Your MK3 wouldn't be the white & green one with 13" Weller seen at the IMM would it?

It used to have a 1330cc motor in it with a green tin rocker cover and a red Broadspeed badge on top.

Yep James, this is the man who has your old mark 3! - or maybe you were not going to admit to it on here whistle

Anyway - glad you found the way to the forum Frog - was good to meet you at the IMM. In case you're wondering, I posted a photo of

your Mark 3 onto facebook and James got very excited bounce

I just wanted to take a step back from the vents in the wings andthe other silly things my dad did when the old girl was under his watchful eye. Rolling Eyes

I could tell you some stories about our antics in that car, rolling it in Alvaston Castle Kart Track's car park, numerous conquests in the passenger seat (your knees got wet cause the carpet was always wet!), getting 47MPH in second gear, booze cruises, off-roading and about 60000 miles hard miles with the best built A-series i've owned (built by a good friend of my dads, sadly no longer with us).

Halcyon days for sure! Laughing

Hi James
Yep it would appear I have indeed got your old car , although sadly it came to me as a rolling shell without the 1330 motor , and is now powered by an 1100 . The vents i dont really mind, although i dont think they really serve any purpose and dont seem to help with the cooling.
It seems the scamp is well travelled and has some history, i always enjoy hearing about a cars past.

Superb looking Sumbeam by the way , my brother is heavily into them, the scamp currently shares a garage with a Lotus Sunbem, awaiting restoration and he is currently working on an ex rally example with a Skip Brown engine

It's nice to hear your brother has good taste. I love Sunbeams, always have. sunny

Mine's definately for sale though. We've not done a lot with it this year, certainly not enough to justify owning it. Crying or Very sad

If your brother knows anyone who might be interested please feel free to pass my details on to him.

Regards

James
