location of chassis number plate
Please can anyone help me. My Mk2 is in a garage for a good going over and MOT .
the mech asked me where the chassis number plate was situated. I dont know. Can someone please tell me where to look. This is urgently required ,so aspeedy answer would be appreciated.

Kit cars don't need one.

Mk3's have them on the inside off the engine bay top front box section.
It is a welded no. and consists of the kit number and the date the kit was produced.
Suggest you PM Colin (Woodstock), him being the only Mk2 owner i can think of at the moment.

Tell your MOT tester to read his manual.
Kit Cars and one off specials don't need a permanently fixed chassis number on the car.
