Scamp Picnic Stourport

Post  Martin & Nettie on Thu Jul 24, 2008 10:34 pm

Nettie has finally had confirmation today from the farmer or to be correct the farmer's wife that we indeed have the site again this year, we always book it again for the following year when we pay (in cash) when we leave but we always check about a month before before we organise the portaloos.

One thing she said to Nettie that this year is the last year we will be getting the site for 250, she did not say what the increase would be but this may be the time to look for a new site for the picnic.

Are we paying a premium for Bank Holiday weekend? And if so, would it help to change the date (historic note: the Picnic was originally held on the first weekend in September)? OK we would have only 2 days instead of 3, on the other hand it would clash with fewer alternative attractions. Just a thought.
