Stourport - the aftermath Empty Stourport - the aftermath

Post  jolly Mon Aug 31, 2009 5:37 pm

Hi all,

Just wanted to say a big big thankyou to the organisers for a fantasic weekend. I didn't get to spend much time there last year but this year gave it a good go before work got in the way. Sundays green lane drive was great fun especially when i got let loose on me own, making that much noise that the ramblers association are fitting tank traps to each lane as we speak no doubt.

The list of people i'd like to thanks for their hospitality and giving me and neil such a warm and friendly welcome would go on and on....you know who you are cheers and a special thanks to Colin for fixing my LPG and talking me around in his scamp over the course even after the exhurst fell off.

I dont think its possible for me to come back bigger and louder next year so i think i should came back smaller and possibly mini based Wink

see you all soon and thanks again

Was a lot of fun and both louise and I will definately be coming again. Fingers crossed with a fixed clutch and a possibly rebuilt engine (started being a little odd on the way home Sad )

Hi both,

It was great to meet you both and I'm so glad that you enjoyed the weekend. We all do our best to make newcomers feel welcome and I'm sure we'll see you both again soon.

Inaddition the turnout at the Picnic was amazing, I've never seen that field so full. and the fact that we had around 25-26 Scamps on site was brilliant. Well done everyone, give yourself a big pat on the back! Wink

Regards

James

What a fantastic weekend. Thank you to all those who orgainsed the event and helped it to run so well. All four of us enjoyed ourselves loads and loads and loads Very Happy

Warren - no probs, glad I could be of help. PM me if you want parts for plumbing in the second LPG tank as discussed.

Also would like to say a big thank you to those who kept an eye on our monsters Twisted Evil while we took Woodstock off roading. Really appreciated, as they have not enjoyed off roading so much this year and we have loved it driving

Can't wait until next time bounce

Stourport - the aftermath Empty Thank you members

Post  RICK Mon Aug 31, 2009 10:37 pm

Thank you all for making Stourport so good. I said when you voted me in on the AGM to be the clubs President, "Its the members that make a good club" and it was you lot that done me proud. Theres a lot of you members I have got to know very well and regard you as good friends, and hope the new members will become friends as well.
I was a bit worried about changing the way the club charged for the event, but it worked out very well, a few paid a bit more. But all the members I spoked to thought it was a lot fairer. It was a very large turn out, bigger than expected by most. I am very sorry about the toilets on the last day as they where full, but in the last few years two toilets where plenty.
I am glad that everyone was happy and had a great time. Thank you for the members that helped, Martin/Nettie,James and so on, without there help it probly wouldn't be as good. Sorry about rambling on so much. I am glad everyone had fun, thats what its all about.

Thanks Rick

Post  lin and tony Mon Aug 31, 2009 11:00 pm

Thanks to all. It was a great weekend.
Well done to Rick for organising the sunshine sunny (amongst other things) It was really lovely to see so many Scamps altogether. I know that some of you have seen more Scamps at other events in the past - but us relative newcomers have not!

As per usual, Taz has not returned unscathed! Another engine out job is called for! (It's a good job those toilets were so full!!!! Jo raced off home rather than use them and took the van - so Jono couldn't take his hoist with him cheers - PHEW!!!!!) A new sub frame is called for.

As usual, many thanks to everyone for everything - ok so we lost the 'best mk3 trophy to our daughter - we will never live it down - but maybe next year. Question Many, many thanks to those that helped to get 'Daisy back up and running on Monday morning - it wasn't terminal after all.

There really are too many people to thank - so I won't mention them by name but ta anyway!

You know - you're right!

Perhaps that's why you couldn't get up the hill and a 19 year girl driving a 998 could - You were not pedaling fast enough!

I didn't realise Harriet was sucking her thumb whilst we were off road. I'll have to have a word with her about that, on good bump and she could end up missing a thumb! affraid

So what was the trouble with plod then?

Too much mud being dropped on the road as we left Stourport maybe? Wink

BTW, it took two and a half hours to pressure wash the 110 and the Scamp and shovel the sand off the drive this evening. Laughing

And i've still got to scrub and repaint the floor ready for the concours and the Mini show in a few weeks. Dave, can i borrow a mirror to show off it's shiney bits? pirat
