......I'm quite sure that if you want to organise a "Scampers Holiday" yourself, we'd all like to hear any suggestions. I'm too lazy to organise my own life..let alone an event...so well done to all those who do something for the club. Cheers drink Jono.

There are some nice places around Norfolk, and Suffolk as well. Very Happy

I think James usually books Wales, because it's cheap (that's what the majority of Scampers seem to crave), and has got all the basics. I'm sure he'd welcome the break from organising the holiday if someone else wants to step in....

Don't look at us, because we haven't been for years due to work commitments. Razz Laughing

Criteria for Scamp holiday, which has been drawn up from members comments over the years and some of my own.

1. Campsite must be near the sea.
2. Campsite must be walking distance from a good pub.
3. Campsite must be cheap.
4. Campsite must have free hot showers.
5. Campsite must allow dogs free of charge.
6. Campsite must have safe facilities for young children.
7. Campsite must have suitable access for caravanners.
8. Campsite must have greenlanes nearby.
9. Campsite must be located centrally so all can come no matter where they live.
10. Campsite must have portaloo emptying facilities.
11. Campsite must have electrical hook up for caravanners.
12. Campsite must be in Terrestial / Satellite / Freeview area to watch corrie.
13. Campsite must have a suitable barn with lifting beam or JCB to fix broken Scamps.
14. Campsite must have fresh water within staggering distance after a drinking session when the wife wants a brew before she goes to bed.
15. Campsite must have decent toilets.
16. Campsite must be a different campsite than the one we have been going to for 6 years.

If anyone out there can find a place that satisfies just a few of the above then book it I say - good luck readit

I know a place with all of that, might not have the JCB,but its too far for the tight northeners?
I would suggest it but I only get shot down in flames?

The "Scamp Holiday" seems to be the kind of event that no one can organise to please more than a few. James’s approach seems right. Book the holiday you….and maybe a few friends.. wants then throw it open for others to come along..or not as they chose. Rick/Mac/Tard, go right ahead and do the same. I am sure that no one will shoot you down in flames for taking such a positive step. I know I won’t and if one of your events fits in with my plans and work commitments, I’d love to come along. If it doesn’t then so be it, but no one can complain if you’ve made the effort, now, can they?
Rick has organised the Easter do and good luck with it. It’s not my "thing" anymore, but a big thumbs up to Rick for getting it done.
