More Help Please !
Greetings All....
I've tried to identify the Vehicle I mentioned earlier with no success so far .
Can anyone with a Mk3 tell me the exact format for a Chassis No.
I've been searching for AM3058790 in that exact form but my contact cannot find any record of that on the DVLA Database . Is that how it should be presented or am I missing a dot or slash or hyphen...if anyone has a similar vehicle I'd appreciate a pointer in the right direction .
Also...does anyone recognize the original owner....a MR Miles Hart , who went to the trouble of ordering a special one off vehicle in 1990 ...any info would be gratefully received .
I've tried to put a couple of photos up but my Photobucket account is proving obstructive...
Thanks....Dave.....(07759442706 )

Re: More Help Please !
AM3058790 should translate thus:
AM3 ....... Andrew Mclean Mk3
058 ........58th Mk3 kit
790 ........ manufactured / sold in July 1990

Thanks
Thanks......I did have the right way of writing the Chassis no . but it still failed to show up on the DVLA Computer .
However , with the help of Andrew I have managed to find the original REG No and have also managed to locate the original ' orderer ' and owner who has been able to fill in most of the blanks . I still can't understand how a car carefully and lovingly built in 1993 , can end up in a barn , completely dismantled but totally undamaged , some 15 years later . Ah well....
Thanks......Dave

Re: More Help Please !
No probs Dave
I'm afraid thats the story of a lot of Scamps
Dismantling is easy, rebuilding can be another story.
Storage / garage space i think is generally the main problem.
A standard size garage is just to small
When i did my Front suspension / drive shafts etc it was a case of shoving it right against one wall and having less than 1m to work in. Then taking it out n turning it around to work on the other side.
The 2019 Int Mini Meet is down/up in Bristol and we will be having a club stand
So you have got just under 2 years to complete your project.
Happy fettling
Rob

Thanks .
Thanks for your help.....I have a mk 1 scamp on the road ( sort of ) along with a Cooper and a Woody..I tried to post a picture or two but my Photobucket account has been very obstructive....
The particular vehicle I've been posting about is the proud possession of a mate of mine in High Wycombe , he also has a'60 saloon and a Woody...he just follows where I lead ....
I know exactly what you mean about dismantled projects , I think that's how I've managed to accumulate shedfulls of stuff....but this one is particularly strange in that the main Frame is completely undamaged and like new....someone took it upon themselves to remove every nut and bolt from a relatively young ( 15 years old ) vehicle...very odd .
Cornwall is such a long way from the rest of the country ( I am 200 miles further west than Bristol ! ) that I don't get to many shows but now I have more time I shall pull my finger out
Cheers..............Dave

Re: More Help Please !
Perhaps not so strange. I gave my own Mk1 a makeover when it was 13 years old - replaced several body panels, did some chassis welding while they were off, painted everything. Fortunately I had a lockup garage where there was room to roll the car halfway out without getting in anyone's way, and I could work on one end at a time. I was jobless at the time, and had every incentive to finish the exercise as it was something I could put in my C.V. to show I hadn't been idle.
