Hi Alan
Welcome to the Mad House

Historically it seems that most people have the best option by going to boat/canal yards and getting them made their.

They seem to under estimate the work needed to make them, so are cheaper.
They then get told please dont come back Very Happy

Various materials
Proper canvas
PVC material (like the boots Twisted Evil )
Ship sail rubberised canvas.

Have a look at Recent old events for pics to see what people have got on their Scamps.

Please add pics of your Scamp onto the Site
RumTumTugger (Bob) is our archivist and might be able to give you some history of your Scamp

Regards
Rob

CANVAS TOP Empty scamp roof

Post  DJALAN Mon Jul 03, 2017 5:36 pm

Cheers Rob

The chap I bought it off mentioned boat yards but I just thought it a bit strange a boat yard making a scamp roof but I guess it must be right. Its not been delivered yet as I didn't fancy driving 180 miles open topped but expecting it sometime this week. I will have to invest in a camera to try and upload photo's of it although I am going to add my own touches to it over next few weeks such as LED lights to the overhead frame' chrome wheels' spotlights etc the kind a thing a man does'ha' I was wondering if a moke hood would fit ? as you can still buy them for around £420 in black'green'sand color. I can't believe the price of moke's? anything up to £28000 some not a patch on my scamp and the scamps more solid.
regards
Alan

If you have any ships chandlers or boat people on the River Croal then they would probably be your best bet to have one made. Other than that there are those out there that do "welded" plastic hoods (i.e. Commercial vehicle curtain siders) some of those type of people may help.
