Pub do club interim meeting

Post  Mk3rob on Sat Jan 31, 2009 11:14 pm

How ever i put the subject i seriously think that we need to have a proper agendered meeting at the pub do to discuss and finalise some of the events that we have been going around in circles on the forum.

I believe that the majority ? of the regulars will be. Prob as many as Newark AGM!

To discuss, in no particular order:

Newark Scamp 40th
IMM
Picnic
bubble car place W/end - summer holiday week
Autumn off roading
Xmas do

and any other discussion points that occur to you peeps.

Good point Rick.

Our club is run on a very informal basis. If my memory serves me correctly (don't know why it should, it never has), we've never had, or needed, any organised meetings apart from the AGM. AFAIK we don't have a written constitution.

This isn't unusual for small clubs with a widely distributed membership, and as long as it works, well, IIABDFI.

The pub meet will indeed be a good opportunity for a round-table discussion, but it won't be more than that. Anyway, like certain of the ancient Greeks, any decisions taken at the meeting ought to be ratified afterwards when we are sober!

Tony and I will not be able to make it to the pub do - we were hoping to be able to, but Dawn needs us top take and fetch her from drama so no can do.

Just wanted to say that -
whatever you decide is fine by us
We will come to everything we can
We will pay for as much as we can

Have fun - and have a drink for us!!!! (no we didn't offer to pay for them!)

I don't know if Elaine has planned anything for after the pub meet, maybe tea and cakes at Jordan towers.

But if not, how about turning the evening into a session at the Rag & Mop?

There's space on the floor at ours if you don't fancy driving home afterwards. Laughing

Your other half said in a recent post and I quote "cost is not an issue to us, if we like the look of it we buy it" so surely you can stretch to a few cakes

How is the snow in that neck of the woods, BTW? Not too bad in S Beds at the moment but I am hearing horror stories from London. affraid From where I live it's a 60-mile journey, mainly motorway, so no problem if present conditions hold. driving

What sort of time are you guys & gals going to be getting there on Friday ? & What time will you be there till ? drinks_wine + drinks_wine = drunken

According to Multimap it's about 30 miles from where i work, so depending on what time the directors unchain me from my desk, i might pop in.

Unfortunately I've got to drive driving so softish drinks only yuck . OK maybe a shandy... drink

Neil

PS Nettie, i've filled in my membership form & will bring some money with me.

Yep i got there, just after 12.
One of a few who thought that they would check out the carpark of last years pub first ........dohh
Havent got the actual number who attended but it was about 40.
Mike and Wendy
Robin and Elaine
Leanne, James and Rugrat
Chaz +1
Colin +3
Rick and Rosie +4
Dave the Mutt +3
Mr Bridger +2
2 members (+2) who hadnt been seen for a good few years
Bob RumTum +2
Jono and Jo finally arrived after everyone had almost finished eating with tails of wo after getting ratted the night before. drinks_wine drink

and a few more that i cant remember (sorry) Embarassed

On leaving we were all given a free performance of "skating on ice" in the car park. I got 8 out of 10 Rolling Eyes tongue

A good time was had by all (2 for 1 bargain) The weather stayed clear and warm +1 all day.

Several departed to James afterwards and continued onto the pub in the evening where we were entertained Exclamation Question by the pubs plug and play session. Looking and listening to the bands/crowd there seems to be a punk revival as a few Susi and the banshees were there. Anyone not understanding ask your mum or dad.
