Stick a list up then.

Re: Christmas dinner 6th Dec 2008
That date happens to be my birthday, and a milestone one at that, so although I'll be celebrating, family and friends will no doubt insist that I do it a bit nearer home.
Have a few for me, anyway.

Christmas Dinner list
We have the money but Elaine has the list, we are seeing them this weekend as she has us booked on a organised hill walk something about needing the exercise so we will post a list when we return hopefully without the need of the mountain rescue helicopter

Re: Christmas dinner 6th Dec 2008
We are both knackered after our walks on Saturday 9 mile and yesterday 7 mile, Elaine did not organise it otherwise a pub would have been visited (I think we passed four) but this was an organised weekend by the MAS (no not mad about sex) but the Mountain Aventure Section of the Camping and Caravan Club, Elaine was the youngest there and most were retired so I thought this is going to be a walk in the park or at least a gentle walk through the countryside, we were in for a shock, there were 20 on Saturday and 10 of us did the walk on Sunday, most of them had their bus passes and were very fit we had to really stride out to keep up with the leaders.

Re: Christmas dinner 6th Dec 2008
Any idea of the final cost yet (just for the meal, not a room), and when does Elaine need the outstanding balance by?
Cheers,
The other Elaine.
Cheers,

Re: Christmas dinner 6th Dec 2008
I'm sure I sent everyone the relevant pages from the hotel brochure? which stated our meal was 29.95 pounds (no pound key sorry) for the meal which we rounded up to 30 quid per person so if you have paid 10 pounds deposit you owe 20 pounds a person. When Elaine G gets back off her hols she will let us know when the balance is to be paid which from memory was early October but I will get her to confirm.

Important Notice Regarding Christmas dinnner
Here is a copy of the email I have sent to all those who have them with regards to the change of date for Christmas Dinner and also so those without who have paid there deposit know what is happening.
I have just spent the last hour on web cam to Martin who is very annoyed as he's already booked his flight and can't change the return date without paying. Other Scampers cannot make that date due to previous commitments and others had booked the time of especially from there normal work schedules.
Martin has sent an email to the manager at the Hilton and if they do not try to accomodate us as promised he is taking it further. I will let everyone know what is happening as regards to the situation.
Nettie
Xmas dinner... yes I know I have put something on the forum but it was wiped of and some people who are attending do not go on the forum so for the benefit of all I will add the info
Important!!!!!
Plus there has been a change of date.
Yes the hotel have been in touch and told us that they have to change our booking date to the following weekend Saturday the 13th of December. I need to know if this is o.k. with everyone asap to tell the hotel. I also need to know who has booked rooms as they say they only have 8 bookings. Deposits will be refunded in full if anyone cannot make that date. As you can imagine Elaine is very angry and upset as am I about this change of date. The manager was very apologetic but said it was due to the other party in the room being bigger than first anticipated or some such rubbish anyway if everyone could let me know asap as I said before. If you want to ring me or Email me that will be fine.
If you are still attending the balance for the meal needs to be sent to me by the 15th of October as I am paying with a club cheque. There are 37 to 40 people attending so that’s a lot of money so I need it to be in the bank. Everyone paid Elaine a deposit of £10 towards the cost of £30 per head, so if its a couple that a balance of £40 I need and just one person a balance of £20. Everyone has to book there own room which is £70 with breakfast for a double and £55 for a double but single occupancy with breakfast.
You need to ring the hotel and book it with the events coordinator or you won't get the free breakfast, the number is 01509 674000. For those who have already paid in full or sent me cheques thank you. I look forward to seeing you all at the Christmas Dinner along with Martin.
I’m sure it's going to be a great do.. and don't forget to bring your cosies!!!
Regards Nettie
