Programmable electronic distributors
Has anybody any experience of using these distributors? I mean the sort that allow you to set up any advance curve from a laptop. There seem to be about 4 different makes, prices range from £133 for an Accuspark conversion kit, up to £360 for a new dizzy.
Actually controlling the advance is a simple enough job for a microprocessor, the difference between a good system and a rubbish one will lie in the method used to set up the custom advance curve, and in the reliability of the hardware, under-bonnet conditions not being exactly electronics-friendly! I'm wondering whether the budget version represents good value, or a waste of money.

Re: Programmable electronic distributors
There's a Dutch programmable dizzy that I know works well on Sunbeams. Not sure if they do a 25D or 45D but they all must be much of a muchness. It's not rocket science

Yep they're still going
That's where I took my Scamp twice (diff engines) to get it on their rolling road.
They have their own workshop so they can fix the broken bits and retest them.
NOT cheap though.
