What hand brake cable is used on the MK3 short wheelbase.

Thanks in advance again.

Yes, but which one? There are four to choose from: wet, dry, van and late types.

The late type is easily identified: it has separate front and rear sections connected by a balancer, with a single cable going to the handbrake lever. The others all have two cables connected to the lever, the only difference between them being the lengths - don't have figures in front of me but the van type is the longest (well it would be, wouldn't it), I think the hydrolastic one is next and the dry suspension one shortest.

Identifying the correct cable could be a problem if there isn't an old one to measure, any of them could have been fitted originally and the handbrake positioned to suit. I'd suggest starting with the dry type, if only because it's cheapest.

If !!
You've got the old one measure it and then give Mini Spares or Mini Sport a ring, they are quite amiable in helping.
Yes you may pay a bit more but you're more likely to get the right one first time.

I'd second calling Mini Spares. They've always been very helpful when I've needed to call them.
