Isnt it about time prices rose, apart from mates rates why shouldnt cars go for more than £300 - £1200 ? Out of the club. Im sure if you had to build a new kit we would all appreciate the whole costs involved. Iva included and that must be taken into account these days.

Rob - In many ways I can't help but agree. Looking through the receipts that came with Nic's Daisy, it cost a fair bit to build. Indeed, My Pepe cost a fair bit to rebuild, and, I have to be fair, the car for sale looks tidy enough. It's just that... well, they just don't fetch that much! At the end of the day, what are people prepared to pay? That is the fair price. Pepe is not and never wil be for sale - even at £3500 or whatever. She is worth more than that to me!

There are few vehicles that hold their value - a Scamp is one of the exceptions. If they are looked after (Yeh, right!) they are worth as much as you paid, but I did think the buy it now was a bit of a joke. You don't build - or rebuild a Scamp to make money on it!

No thats a fair point but the owners look at the current kit car listings and or stupid prices of dealers who think joe public know no better and assume they think they are getting a bargain. We know differently. Mates rates within the club are a good thing and should in reason remain. I for one have spent far too much on most of my unfinished projects as some will verify. You do occasionally get carried away on bells and whistles, as for mine i would do mine lower to club members i just need to cover a modest outlay.

The simple truth is any kit car that is or has been on the road with history will achieve a proper price it is easier and cheaper to buy a completed car in the long run.
my mk1 sold for 1150 no problem,no tax no mot,correctly registered.
have had offers on the mk2 £1500, not back on the road but correctly registered don't see the problem really just a sign of the times

I think it shows that most of us have not moved with the times. It was not that long ago that you could get a complete Mini or Metro for £50 as an MOT failure.

I challenge anyone on here to find me a good 1275 A or A+ engine and gearbox for under £100.

It is a good thing that the values are increasing but it doesn't come without a down side.
