they didn't need 4x4's
Not with 15 or 20 young, fit and eager volunteers to do the manhandling.

You mean upto 4 people bouncing? (you can't really get many more around a Scamp). Or more often than not, just use another Scamp to pull it out... Wink

What were you on, to see that many people?! Laughing

Oh indeedy Chris, play hard, but let's not allow our little cars to become the laughing stock... most 4x4 owners already think Scamps would be rubbish off-road.... Rolling Eyes All we're saying is that the SOC has always set out to prove the doubters that they're more than wrong. Twisted Evil Cool
By all means, allow 4x4's to join in the fun, but we don't want folks thinking that the Scamps would be stuck or stranded without their aid. Smile

Hope you're all having a good Christmas, and we wish you a very muddy New Year,
E&R. tank

P.S If you don't know us and are thinking that we're 4x4 haters, we're not... We've also got a Suzuki Jimny and a Defender. I love you

Turkey Run surviver

Post  Mk3rob on Tue Dec 27, 2011 7:49 pm

Well done Colin and Debs for organising another great off roading event bounce

I was at Debs for 8.45 well in time for a bacon butty and a cuppa. Hug

We started slowly and through out the day things got more interesting and muddy and wet affraid

Lunch was well needed and a pint of Hooky beer went down well. The Scamp groupies even turned up in a red Corsa Twisted Evil

One way or another we all made it back to Cols by 6.30 for another cuppa, before going our seperate ways.

Thanks again Deb and Col sunny

Turkey Run.

Post  Mr Bridger on Tue Dec 27, 2011 7:59 pm

Well just arrived home after a fantastic day.

The day started with a bang and just got better and better.

The bacon butty was much appreciated as well as the coffee.

The lanes varied from dead easy to "I don't think I am going to make this one..........."

The last lane in the dark was the most fun I've had with the Scamp Club for a long time.

The company was great and it was nice to see a couple of new faces getting down and dirty.

Thanks again Debbie and Colin for a greats days entertainment.

Looking forward to Hope Valley at Easter already.

Just to add our 2 penn'oth.

Many thanks to Deb and Colin. It was great to see 6 scamps out today - and even better that they nearly all made it back under their own steam!

That last lane was truly a challenge - I have to say, that with the light fading as it was, it was very reassuring to have those 4x4s to give us a push, pull and prod in the right direction - even if some of them were also getting stuck!

Thanks everyone and a very happy new year to everyone.

Thank you to everybody who came along to join us on the Turkey Run yesterday. Had a great turn out with 6 scamps and 6 other cars. It seemed that most if not all enjoyed themselves - which is was all about. Very Happy

Really want to say how much we enjoyed the day. cheers

On the last lane it was almost dark and being virtually last in the convoy I decided Discretion is the better part of valour (WIMP ! ) and followed the Paj back down the lane.

Earlier in the day I managed to tackle the water Rolling Eyes...despite "hitting" the water too fast intially....I made it through.

At the end of the video you can hear Steve's voice.....there was 6 inches of water inside the Scamp.

Thanks again to Colin & Debbie for organising the Day.

Cheers

Dave & Mark
