Their compressor doesn't look bad either - 9.5 CFM, 8 bar, 24 litres, £80.

Could either be an absolute bargain, or just cheap & cheerful. Do keep us informed as to whether you find them satisfactory in use. In particular, let us know if you manage to break them before Aldi do a similar offer again!

The reason that I bought ALL the tools is because a mate already has them and uses them for his garage business. He also has the compressor at home for smaller home jobs. It was on his recommendation that I took a punt.

Don't forget, 3 year warranty on them all.

We've got some of their tools and never had a problem with them and Aldi are very good at refunds. I'm picking up one of the spot blaster kit as the 2kg of abrasive would cost you a tenner.

We'd better get there before the rest of the Scamp club then - that was one of my port of calls tomorrow - for the spot blaster for our new project!

Was a little unsure about getting that as I have been told you need at least 150litre compressor to run it.

Thanks for your observations.

I am tempted to visit my local branch, plastic in hand, but I have to apply the two-out-of-three rule. At least two yesses are required to the three questions:

  • Do I really need this stuff?
  • Have I got room to store it?
  • Can I afford it?

The problem is I don't actually need air tools for any of the projects in hand at the moment, but there were times in the past when they would have been handy, and there might be again.

Wrong three questions...should read

1) Is it shiney?
2) Do I want it?
3) How much damage can my wife inflict upon me?

I think i might be doing something wrong... I (lin) was the one who went out and bought the tools!!!! (The spot blaster and one of the cutter things - I bought everything else for him when they last had them for sale!)

The other question to ask is;
"Have they got what is on the advert"
Sadly the answer was no,the cut off grinder at a very good price of £6.99,all sold out!!

I think I should get Colette to have a chat with you Lin. It will either make things easier for me to get toys or more difficult for Tony Laughing

I have justify purchases using Rum Tum Tuggers system. Which in the grand scheme of things is actually quite a good one Very Happy

If your desired item is sold out at your local Aldi don't despair, I have found that what is sold out depends on where you live, our local Aldi sells out immediately of certain things but the Aldi near work (25 miles away) has plenty of that item - and the reduced section prices also differ so locate your next Aldi and you might be lucky.

If you want us to get you one Chris, I can pop in sometime this week and pick one up if they still have them - just let me know.
