Refreshingly honest description after some of the ones that have been up on the Bay lately. In some ways the poor state of it makes things easier. You just strip everything off and start again which is much less hassle then working round previous owners work & bodges.

Taz was in a similar state - perhaps a little better -when we bought him. Everything was seized up. engine there but not sure if it ran, only difference was there were seats - not fitted, but they were there.
Now it has just won best mark three at Stourport!
It wasn't as much trouble as it looked!

Re: Proper Scamp project on Ebay
I think it makes a lot of difference where it has been stored - in a garage i.e. in the dry rather that on outside which where this one has been hybernating by the look of it - the side rails suffer i.e. fill up with water and slowly dissolve from the inside - if anyone buys it take a hammer with you and tap the underneath of the bottom chassis rails - a dull thud means you will be getting the welder out and sourcing suitable box section. You might be lucky when it was built someone might have injected the chassis with waxoil but I doubt it - I always drilled a 1/2" hole or similar at the back end to let water out - can't remember how many rivits are used on average during the build - is it a thousand or so anyone know????
